On
Sunday, March 21, the Friends of Bogue Banks Library will hold their
annual meeting from 3:00-5:00pm. After a short business meeting, a program
will be presented by Joe Bathanti, award winning poet and novelist from the
Department of English at Appalachian State University in Boone. |

His topic for
discussion will be "The Turf of Hankering: A Yankee Comes South;" an
amusing look at his adjustments to his new home after growing up in
Pittsburg.

Art @ the Library: |
| In
March, March, the Art Gallery of the Bogue Banks Library will feature
the beautiful seashell collages of Earl Boykin. A native of Wilson, NC,
Earl has collected seashells on Pine Knoll Shores beaches for many years
to create these unique works of art, utilizing window frames salvaged
from his family’s ancestral home to display his treasures. This
wonderful exhibit must be seen to be appreciated. The library’s
showcases will exhibit classic, hand-painted porcelain collectibles by
prizewinning artists Ruth Price from Atlantic Beach and Shirley Gambrell
from Morehead City. |
