On
*Sunday, March 21*, the Friends of Bogue Banks Library will hold their
annual meeting from 3:00-5:00pm. After a short business meeting, a program
will be presented by Joe Bathanti, award winning poet and novelist from the
Department of English at Appalachian State University in Boone. |
Mr. Bathanti will speak on "The Turf of Hankering: A Yankee Comes South;" an
amusing look at his adjustments to his new home after growing up in
Pittsburg. |
This project is made possible by a grant from the North
Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit and affiliate of the
National Endowment for the Humanities. |

Light refreshments will be served and Mr. Bathanti will have copies of his
books to sign and sell. |
