Art @ the Library:

The Art Gallery at the Bogue Banks Public Library will feature the fabulous photographs of Newport resident Bill Meserve. Bill feels that Carteret County is a photographers’ paradise. It offers all the elements that contribute to compelling images which he captures so well in his work – incredible light from sunrise to sunset; beaches and waterways; intriguing architecture, quaint watercraft and captivating people. Bill has been a photographer for more than 20 years. He currently teaches digital photography at Carteret Community College and conducts photography workshops for Road Scholar (previously Elderhostel). He is part of the Carteret Arts Council Adopt-an-Artist program and recently won a silver award for a portrait at the 2013 Art from the Heart event.

Jewelry by Willi Foster

The showcases will display the unique handmade jewelry of Beaufort resident Willi Foster. All creations are made of gemstones or rocks of some variety and gold and silver plated metals. Willi also employs Japanese braiding called kumihimo in many of her pieces. Willi also displays her jewelry at the Seahorse Antique place on 4101 Arendell St., as well as Making Waves on Highway 70 in Otway.

Please plan to join our gallery artists at the public reception on Friday, May 10 from 3 - 4 p.m. in the Art Gallery.
