Library News

“Let’s Talk About It.” in Beaufort: Monday, January 12, Carteret County Public Library begins the series “Exploring the American West… Whose West?” This project is made possible by a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, in partnership with the North Carolina Center for the Book, a program of the State Library of North Carolina.
The Literary Classics Online Book Club (TLCOBC): Beginning in January, this online book club will be specially tailored for people who enjoy reading and talking about classic literature. Each year, we will select six classic books to read and discuss. The book club will launch in January 2015 with “Hamlet.” For more information, visit: http://tlcobc.wordpress.com/

Art @ the Library

In January, the Art Gallery will feature the work of Craig Sparrow. Sparrow has worked as an art educator for the past twenty years and earned a BFA and MAED in Art Education from ECU. His work varies from abstraction to photorealism. The display case will feature the work of Don and Laura Saddlemire of Sneads Ferry, NC. Each of their weathervanes, ornaments, and charms is handcrafted from recycled copper shingles that came off of a 1920’s North Carolina Outer Banks home.

“Percy Jackson Camp Half-Blood”

Come and enjoy Percy Jackson themed games, crafts, and trivia! January 17 at 2:00 p.m.  Pre-register at the library or email jrobinson@carteretcountylibraries.org or call 728-2050. Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
