In February, the Bogue Banks Public Library will feature the artwork of Amanda Robinson. Amanda Robinson is a self-taught artist with a love for acrylics. Her subject matter ranges from landscapes depicting wildlife to illustrating children books. She has currently found her way to the ocean and Swansboro, NC where she is constantly finding inspiration.

     In February, Carteret County Public Library will display the digital photography of Connie Mason. She discovered a digital camera and different filter programs could be used to manipulate an image into pleasing art forms mimicking paintings, pen and inks and charcoal drawings with less mess, time and dedicated studio space. She is also a singer-song writer and has included some of her lyrics that add a different dimension to her homage to family and community displayed here. Handcrafted wooden baskets by Dale Davis of Morehead City will be featured in the display case. These geometrically designed baskets are created using black walnut.

    In February, the Western Carteret Public Library will feature the mixed media work of Lee Frye. She does realistic works in all media. Frye has been doing art all her life and her parents sent her for private lessons at a young age. After going to school for technical and commercial art, she entered the medical field. Her works maybe viewed at Brady’s in Morehead City and T & W on Highway 58.
