| August 14 through September 1 | "Celebrate North Carolina: Faces and Places" photo exhibit. |
| August 23 | Let's Talk About It Series discussion on Billy Budd by Herman Melville, 7 p.m. |
| August 26 | "Your Photographs: How to Help Them Survive Over Time" with guest speaker Kim Cumber, Non-Textual Materials Archivist at the North Carolina State Archives. Program begins at 7 p.m. |
| September 2 | Artist of the Month reception, 7 p.m. |
| September 6 | The Library will be closed for Labor Day. |
| September 12 | The Library reopens on Sunday afternoons from 2 until 6 p.m. |
| September 14 | A lecture on New Bern's World War II Prisoner of War camp, Camp Battle, will be given by James E. White III. |
| September 16 | Held on the Homefront: German POWs in the U.S.,
1943-46, a traveling exhibit touring the East Coast from North Carolina
to Maine, will visit the library. Held on the Homefront is an unusual, rich story brought to life in the BUS-eum, a 40-foot school bus converted into a mobile classroom and museum. |
